Evergrowing Iron and Finvest , a Tripura based company is planning to set
up spone iron plant in AP. The project involves setting up a steel plant
through sponge iron with a capacity of 0.68 million tonnes per annum and
an induction furnace at Nellipaka village in Khammam district of Andhra
Pradesh. The project also includes a 130 MW captive power plant. The
waste heat gases generated from the process will be used for generation of
power and the water for horticulture crops with sprinkler irrigation systems.
The Rs. 8,540 million project will be funded through equity ( Rs. 2,850
million ) and loans from government of AP ( Rs. 5,690 million ). The
project will go on stream in July 2009.
